Ice Dogs Gearing Up for Big Season

It's hard to believe, but hockey season is just around the corner.
Dryden Ice Dogs President Ted Lake says its going to be a special year, as the team is celebrating 10-years of Junior Hockey.
Training Camp runs from August 26th until the 29th.
Clint Mylmock is back behind the bench for his second season with the team.

The team is also looking for submissions for a 10th anniversary patch.


Hagan's and McKinstry Draw First Blood

The Hagan's Heroes and McKinstry Chargers have the upper hand in the Men's Slo-Pitch Semi-Final.
The Chargers downed the Wolfpack 11-6 Wednesday night, while the Hagan's Heroes upended the P.I. Rippers 30-11.
Both team's lead their Best-of-3 Semi 1-0.
In Dryden Ladies Fastball Regular Season play, the Thompson Paint Shop Angels blanked Time Out Sports 14-0.


Semi-Final Action in Men's Slo-Pitch

The Dryden Men's Slo-Pitch Semi-Final starts tonight (Wednesday) at the Sandy Beach Ball Diamond.
The defending champion Hagan's Heroes take on the P.I. Rippers in the first Best-of-3 affair.
The Wolfpack meet the McKinstry Chargers in the other Semi.
Game time is 6:45 tonight.


Dryden Athlete Off to Western Canadian Final

Dryden's Megan Pinette is heading to the Western Canadian Fastball Championship.
Pinette and her Murillo Mudhens teammates have captured the Regional Championship.
The team now travels to Winnipeg August 5th to 8th for Western Canadians.
The organization is now fundraising to help cover some of the costs for Pinette and the rest of the club to participate.

Cory Smith Wins Gold

Cory Smith of Dryden picked up a gold meal at the weekend Triathlon in Kenora.
Smith finished with a time of 2 hours and 32 minutes in his age category.
Dryden's Garrett Lindquist placed second in his age category, while Peter Smith finished 15th in the Men's Sprint Duathlon.

Slo-Pitch Semi-Final Set

The Dryden Men's Slo-Pitch Semi-Final is now set in stone.
The Hagan's Heroes will take on the P.I. Rippers after the Rippers defeated Vermilion Bay.
The Wolfpack face the McKinstry Chargers in the other Semi.
Game 1 starts Wednesday night at Sandy Beach.


Selection Camp for All-Star Regional Team

The first step towards the selection of a Regional All-Star PeeWee hockey team to compete in next March's all-Ontario Championship takes place next month.
An evaluation camp will be held August 21st and 22nd in Vermilion Bay.
25-players from that camp will be selected to the team's selection camp in September.
Registration must be made before August 11th by calling coach Dan Reynard at 467-2727.
